Vaide’s memories

 # mid week topic  Something from around the house is doing the talking.                  I don’t know how old I am . You ask my present owner and he too would be flummoxed . He has been seeing me since he was born .                   I am his thatha’s walking stick .  That gentleman born in the 1920s was to an extent anglicised . The walking stick was then supposed to be the perfectly turned out male’s prop. So even when in their 40s the military gentleman on his walk would twirl his moustache and his walking stick.                   At one time  I have been used  more as  a whacking stick than as a walking stick.  Insolence was never tolerated. I have touched the hands and legs of the children many a time.                    Well that was the norm those days ...
